       The Committee on Budget (Wise) recommended the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)

    3         Between lines 3336 and 3337
    4  insert:
    5         Section 80. Subsections (3) and (4) of section 429.27,
    6  Florida Statutes, are amended to read:
    7         429.27 Property and personal affairs of residents.—
    8         (3) A facility administrator, upon mutual consent with the
    9  resident, shall provide for the safekeeping in the facility of
   10  personal effects, including funds, not in excess of $500 and
   11  funds of the resident not in excess of $200 cash, and shall keep
   12  complete and accurate records of all such funds and personal
   13  effects received. If a resident is absent from a facility for 24
   14  hours or more, the facility may provide for the safekeeping of
   15  the resident’s personal effects, including funds, in excess of
   16  $500.
   17         (4) Any funds or other property belonging to or due to a
   18  resident, or expendable for his or her account, which is
   19  received by the administrator a facility shall be trust funds
   20  which shall be kept separate from the funds and property of the
   21  facility and other residents or shall be specifically credited
   22  to such resident. Such trust funds shall be used or otherwise
   23  expended only for the account of the resident. At least once
   24  every 3 months, unless upon order of a court of competent
   25  jurisdiction, the administrator facility shall furnish, upon
   26  written request, to the resident and his or her guardian,
   27  trustee, or conservator, if any, a complete and verified
   28  statement of all funds and other property to which this
   29  subsection applies, detailing the amount and items received,
   30  together with their sources and disposition. In any event, the
   31  facility shall furnish such statement annually and upon the
   32  discharge or transfer of a resident. Any governmental agency or
   33  private charitable agency contributing funds or other property
   34  to the account of a resident shall also be entitled to receive
   35  such statement annually and upon the discharge or transfer of
   36  the resident.

   48         administrator, upon written request, to furnish at
   49         least once every 3 months to the resident and his or
   50         her guardian, trustee, or conservator, if any, a
   51         complete and verified statement of all funds and other
   52         property in the custody of the administrator; amending
   53         s. 429.28, F.S.;
