       The Committee on Budget Subcommittee on Health and Human
       Services Appropriations (Sobel) recommended the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)

    3         Between lines 3919 and 3920
    4  insert:
    5         (9) The agency shall monitor provider charges regularly and
    6  conduct, at least quarterly, audits of durable medical equipment
    7  purchases. Each qualified plan shall cooperate with such audits
    8  and provide all information the agency determines is necessary
    9  to audit such purchases against recipient medical procedures and
   10  to ensure that durable medical equipment acquisitions are
   11  appropriate.
