    1                          Senate Resolution                        
    2         A resolution commending Mary Labyak for her leadership
    3         in the hospice movement and for her contributions to
    4         improving the quality of end-of-life care for all
    5         Americans.
    6  
    7         WHEREAS, Mary Labyak is a pioneer in America’s hospice
    8  movement and has committed more than 30 years of her life to
    9  improving the quality of end-of-life care, and
   10         WHEREAS, Mary Labyak provided instrumental leadership in
   11  defining hospice care delivery in this state and was a guiding
   12  light for the early hospice volunteer movement, and
   13         WHEREAS, Mary Labyak has served as president and chief
   14  executive officer of Suncoast Hospice since 1983 and has
   15  directed the delivery of high-quality hospice care to patients
   16  and families throughout Pinellas County, and
   17         WHEREAS, Mary Labyak is a national beacon of leadership in
   18  hospice care, where her voice is respected and honored, and
   19         WHEREAS, the hospice community in Florida and throughout
   20  the nation desires to recognize Mary Labyak for her many
   21  accomplishments as a hospice advocate and compassionate leader
   22  and for improving health care for all, NOW, THEREFORE,

   24  Be It Resolved by the Senate of the State of Florida:
   25  
   26         That Mary Labyak is commended for her notable contributions
   27  to advancing the quality of end-of-life care, for her steadfast
   28  advocacy of hospice awareness and access, and for her
   29  inspirational leadership on behalf of hospice care in this state
   30  and across the nation.
   31         BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution, with
   32  the Seal of the Senate affixed, be presented to Mary Labyak as a
   33  tangible token of the sentiments of the Florida Senate.
