       The Committee on Education Pre-K - 12 (Wise) recommended the
       following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
    2  
    3         Delete everything after the enacting clause
    4  and insert:
    5         Section 1. Subsection (1) of section 1001.395, Florida
    6  Statutes, is amended to read:
    7         1001.395 District school board members; compensation.—
    8         (1) Each member of the district school board shall receive
    9  a base salary, the amounts indicated in this section, based on
   10  the population of the county the district school board member
   11  serves. In addition, compensation shall be made for population
   12  increments over the minimum for each population group, which
   13  shall be determined by multiplying the population in excess of
   14  the minimum for the group times the group rate. The product of
   15  such calculation shall be added to the base salary to determine
   16  the adjusted base salary. The adjusted base salaries of district
   17  school board members shall be increased annually as provided for
   18  in s. 145.19. Notwithstanding this subsection and s. 145.19,
   19  individual district school board member salaries may not exceed
   20  the salary provided to members of the Senate and House of
   21  Representatives as defined in s. 11.13(1)(a)2.
