       The Committee on Judiciary (Simmons) recommended the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
    2  
    3         Delete lines 74 - 78
    4  and insert:
    5         (b) A local law, ordinance, or regulation may not restrict
    6  the use of vacation rentals, prohibit vacation rentals, or
    7  regulate vacation rentals based solely on their classification,
    8  use, or occupancy. This paragraph does not apply to any local
    9  law, ordinance or rule adopted on or before April 1, 2011.

   13         And the title is amended as follows:
   14         Delete lines 4 - 7
   15  and insert:
   16         changes made by the act; prohibiting local governments
   17         from regulating vacation rentals based solely on their
   18         classification or use; providing an exception;
   19         amending ss. 509.221 and 509.241, F.S.;
