| 13 | Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: |
| 14 |
|
| 15 | Section 1. Subsection (12) of section 215.5602, Florida |
| 16 | Statutes, is amended to read: |
| 17 | 215.5602 James and Esther King Biomedical Research |
| 18 | Program.- |
| 19 | (12) From funds appropriated to accomplish the goals of |
| 20 | this section, up to $250,000 shall be available for the |
| 21 | operating costs of the Florida Center for Universal Research to |
| 22 | Eradicate Disease. Beginning in the 2011-2012 2010-2011 fiscal |
| 23 | year and thereafter, $25 $50 million from the revenue deposited |
| 24 | into the Health Care Trust Fund pursuant to ss. 210.011(9) and |
| 25 | 210.276(7) shall be reserved for research of tobacco-related or |
| 26 | cancer-related illnesses. Of the revenue deposited in the Health |
| 27 | Care Trust Fund pursuant to this section, $25 $50 million shall |
| 28 | be transferred to the Biomedical Research Trust Fund within the |
| 29 | Department of Health. Subject to annual appropriations in the |
| 30 | General Appropriations Act, $5 $20 million shall be appropriated |
| 31 | to the James and Esther King Biomedical Research Program, $5 $20 |
| 32 | million shall be appropriated to the William G. "Bill" Bankhead, |
| 33 | Jr., and David Coley Cancer Research Program created under s. |
| 34 | 381.922, $5 and $10 million shall be appropriated to the H. Lee |
| 35 | Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute established under |
| 36 | s. 1004.43, $5 million shall be appropriated to the Sylvester |
| 37 | Comprehensive Cancer Center of the University of Miami, and $5 |
| 38 | million shall be appropriated to the University of Florida |
| 39 | Shands Cancer Center. |
| 40 | Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2011. |
