       The Committee on Community Affairs (Bennett) recommended the
       following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with directory and title amendments)
    2  
    3         Delete lines 89 - 97
    4  and insert:
    5                             ARTICLE XII                           
    6                              SCHEDULE                             
    7         SECTION 32. Disabled veterans’ property taxes.—The
    8  amendment to subsection (e) of Section 6 of Article VII relating
    9  to the property tax discount for disabled veterans and this
   10  section shall take effect January 1, 2013.
   11         BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the following statement be
   12  placed on the ballot:
   13                      CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT                     
   14                       ARTICLE VII, SECTION 6                      
   15                       ARTICLE XII, SECTION 32                     
   16         DISABLED VETERANS’ PROPERTY TAX DISCOUNT.—Proposing an
   17  amendment to Section 6 of Article VII and the creation of
   18  Section 32 of Article XII of the State Constitution to expand
   19  the availability of the property tax discount on homesteads of
   20  veterans who became disabled as the result of a combat injury to
   21  include those who were not Florida residents when they entered
   22  the military, and to schedule the amendment to take effect
   23  January 1, 2013.

   26         And the directory clause is amended as follows:
   27         Delete lines 11 - 12
   28  and insert:
   29         That the following amendment to Section 6 of Article VII
   30  and the creation of Section 32 of Article XII of the State
   31  Constitution are agreed to and shall be submitted to

   34         And the title is amended as follows:
   35         Delete lines 3 - 7
   36  and insert:
   37         of Article VII and the creation of Section 32 of
   38         Article XII of the State Constitution to expand the
   39         availability of the ad valorem tax discount for
   40         disabled veterans to include those who were not
   41         Florida residents when they entered military service
   42         and to provide an effective date.
