       The Committee on Education Pre-K - 12 (Wise) recommended the
       following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment 
    2  
    3         Delete lines 537 - 549
    4  and insert:
    5         (I) The base salary for instructional personnel or school
    6  administrators who opt into the performance salary schedule
    7  shall be the salary paid in the prior year, including
    8  adjustments only, in accordance with the collective bargaining
    9  contract, if such contract exists.
   10         (II) Instructional personnel or school administrators new
   11  to the district, returning to the district after a break in
   12  service without an authorized leave of absence, or appointed for
   13  the first time to a position in the district in the capacity of
   14  instructional personnel or school administrators shall be placed
   15  on the performance salary schedule in accordance with the
   16  collective bargaining contract, if such contract exists.
