    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to the payment of bar dues; amending
    3         s. 216.345, F.S.; providing legislative findings;
    4         authorizing the payment of dues to The Florida Bar for
    5         certain attorneys employed by the state; providing an
    6         effective date.

    8  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
    9  
   10         Section 1. Present subsection (4) of section 216.345,
   11  Florida Statutes, is renumbered as subsection (5) and a new
   12  subsection (4) is added to that section, to read:
   13         216.345 Professional or other organization membership dues;
   14  payment.—
   15         (4) The Legislature finds that payment of annual dues to
   16  The Florida Bar is essential to the statutory duties and
   17  responsibilities of state attorneys, public defenders, and their
   18  attorney assistants, and, therefore, specifically authorizes
   19  payment of these annual dues.
   20         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2011.
