    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to public safety telecommunicators;
    3         amending s. 401.465, F.S.; exempting sworn state
    4         certified law enforcement officers from certification
    5         requirements for public safety telecommunicators;
    6         providing an effective date.

    8  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
    9  
   10         Section 1. Subsection (5) is added to section 401.465,
   11  Florida Statutes, to read:
   12         401.465 911 public safety telecommunicator certification.—
   13         (5) EXEMPTION.—Notwithstanding any provision of law to the
   14  contrary, a sworn state-certified law enforcement officer who
   15  serves as a 911 public safety telecommunicator is exempt from
   16  the certification requirements of this section.
   17         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2011.
