| 9 | Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida: |
| 10 |
|
| 11 | Section 1. (1) The Office of Program Policy Analysis and |
| 12 | Government Accountability (OPPAGA) shall conduct a study to |
| 13 | determine the minimum amount of dollars per student needed to |
| 14 | meet the requirement in Section 1 of Article IX of the State |
| 15 | Constitution which declares: "Adequate provision shall be made |
| 16 | by law for a uniform, efficient, safe, secure, and high quality |
| 17 | system of free public schools that allows students to obtain a |
| 18 | high quality education". |
| 19 | (2) The minimum amount of dollars per kindergarten through |
| 20 | grade 12 student shall be a statewide average calculated for |
| 21 | basic education programs. |
| 22 | (3) OPPAGA shall submit a report of its findings and |
| 23 | determination to the President of the Senate and the Speaker of |
| 24 | the House of Representatives by December 1, 2012. |
| 25 | Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2012. |
