The Committee on Health Regulation (Diaz de la Portilla)
recommended the following:
1 Senate Amendment (with directory and title amendments)

3 Between lines 36 and 37
4 insert:
5 (2) REGISTRATION.—Effective January 1, 2012, a physician
6 licensed under chapter 458, chapter 459, chapter 461, or chapter
7 466 who prescribes any controlled substance listed in Schedule
8 II, Schedule III, or Schedule IV of as defined in s. 893.03, for
9 the treatment of chronic nonmalignant pain, must:
10 (a) Designate himself or herself as a controlled substance
11 prescribing practitioner on the physician’s practitioner
12 profile.
13 (b) Comply with the requirements of this section and
14 applicable board rules.

17 And the directory clause is amended as follows:
18 Delete lines 24 - 25
19 and insert:
20 Section 1. Paragraph (a) of subsection (1) and subsections
21 (2) and (3) of section 456.44, Florida Statutes, are amended to
