       The Committee on Health Regulation (Diaz de la Portilla)
       recommended the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
    2  
    3         Delete lines 24 - 36
    4  and insert:
    5         Section 1. Paragraphs (a) and (c) of subsection (1) and
    6  subsection (3) of section 456.44, Florida Statutes, are amended
    7  to read:
    8         456.44 Controlled substance prescribing.—
    9         (1) DEFINITIONS.—
   10         (a) “Addiction medicine specialist” means a board-certified
   11  psychiatrist who holds physiatrist with a subspecialty
   12  certification in addiction medicine or who is eligible for such
   13  subspecialty certification in addiction medicine, a an addiction
   14  medicine physician who is certified or eligible for
   15  certification by the American Society of Addiction Medicine, or
   16  an osteopathic physician who holds a certificate of added
   17  qualification in Addiction Medicine through the American
   18  Osteopathic Association.
   19         (c) “Board–certified pain management physician” means a
   20  physician who possesses board certification in pain medicine by
   21  the American Board of Pain Medicine, board certification by the
   22  American Board of Interventional Pain Physicians, or board
   23  certification or subcertification in pain management by a
   24  specialty board recognized by the American Association of
   25  Physician Specialists or the American Board of Medical
   26  Specialties or an osteopathic physician who holds a certificate
   27  in Pain Management by the American Osteopathic Association.

   30         And the title is amended as follows:
   31         Delete line 6
   32  and insert:
   33         a physiatrist; redefining the term “board-certified
   34         pain management physician” to include a physician who
   35         possesses board certification or subcertification in
   36         pain management by a specialty board recognized by the
   37         American Board of Medical Specialties; providing that
   38         the management of pain
