       The Committee on Transportation (Joyner) recommended the
       following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
    2  
    3         Between lines 21 and 22
    4  insert:
    5         Section 2. Subsection (5) of section 322.0261, Florida
    6  Statutes, is amended to read:
    7         322.0261 Driver improvement course; requirement to maintain
    8  driving privileges; failure to complete; department approval of
    9  course.—
   10         (5) In determining whether to approve a driver improvement
   11  course for the purposes of this section, the department shall
   12  consider course content designed to promote safety, driver
   13  awareness, crash avoidance techniques, awareness of the risks
   14  associated with using a handheld electronic communication device
   15  while operating a motor vehicle, and other factors or criteria
   16  to improve driver performance from a safety viewpoint.
