    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to specialty license plates; amending
    3         ss. 320.08056 and 320.08058, F.S.; creating the Go
    4         Green license plate; establishing an annual use fee
    5         for the plate; providing for the distribution of use
    6         fees received from the sale of the plate; providing an
    7         effective date.

    9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   10  
   11         Section 1. Paragraph (aaaa) is added to subsection (4) of
   12  section 320.08056, Florida Statutes, to read:
   13         320.08056 Specialty license plates.—
   14         (4) The following license plate annual use fees shall be
   15  collected for the appropriate specialty license plates:
   16         (aaaa) Go Green license plate, $25.
   17         Section 2. Subsection (79) is added to section 320.08058,
   18  Florida Statutes, to read:
   19         320.08058 Specialty license plates.—
   20         (79) GO GREEN LICENSE PLATES.—
   21         (a) The department shall develop a Go Green license plate
   22  as provided in this section. The plate must bear the colors and
   23  design approved by the department. The word “Florida” must
   24  appear at the top of the plate, and the words “Go Green” must
   25  appear at the bottom of the plate.
   26         (b) The annual use fees shall be distributed to the
   27  Coalition for Renewable Energy Solutions, Inc., which shall
   28  retain the initial revenues from the sales of such plates until
   29  all startup costs incurred in the development and approval of
   30  the plates have been reimbursed. Thereafter, the proceeds shall
   31  be used by the coalition as follows:
   32         1. A maximum of 10 percent of the proceeds may be used to
   33  fund the administrative and marketing costs of the license plate
   34  program.
   35         2. The remaining fees shall be used to fund programs and
   36  projects that educate the public and implement or publicize
   37  renewable energy solutions.
   38         Section 3. This act shall take effect July 1, 2012.
