       The Committee on Education Pre-K - 12 (Wise) recommended the
       following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
    2  
    3         Delete everything after the enacting clause
    4  and insert:
    5         Section 1. Subsection (11) of section 447.203, Florida
    6  Statutes, is amended to read:
    7         447.203 Definitions.—As used in this part:
    8         (11) “Employee organization” or “organization” means any
    9  labor organization, union, association, fraternal order,
   10  occupational or professional society, or group, however
   11  organized or constituted, that which represents, or seeks to
   12  represent, any public employee or group of public employees
   13  concerning any matters relating to their employment relationship
   14  with a public employer, except that a “professional teacher
   15  association” as defined in s. 1001.03(4) shall not be included
   16  in this definition until it applies for registration pursuant to
   17  s. 447.305.
   18         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2012.

   21         And the title is amended as follows:
   22         Delete everything before the enacting clause
   23  and insert:
   24                        A bill to be entitled                      
   25         An act relating to teachers; amending s. 447.203,
   26         F.S.; excluding certain professional teacher
   27         associations from the definition of “employee
   28         organization” for purposes of provisions relating to
   29         public employee organizations unless such associations
   30         apply for registration under specified provisions;
   31         providing an effective date.
