       Senators Jones, Dockery, and Sachs moved the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
    2  
    3         Delete lines 528 - 529
    4  and insert:
    5  nursing services. Medical benefits do not include acupuncture as
    6  defined in s. 457.102. Medical benefits do not include massage
    7  as defined in s. 480.033 unless a physician prescribes it, which
    8  prescription must include the diagnosis, the frequency of
    9  treatment, the modalities of treatment, and a statement of
   10  medical necessity for the massage and any modalities. Prescribed
   11  treatment may not exceed more than 4 modalities rendered during
   12  one treatment date or exceed more than 24 visits within 12 weeks
   13  of the first massage service and which is supported by the
   14  medical records documenting the medical necessity for each
   15  treatment or modality. Massage therapy will be covered as one
   16  component of a medically necessary treatment plan. Massage
   17  therapy may not be covered in the absence of treatment or other
   18  therapeutic modalities performed by the prescribing physician.
