The Committee on Budget (Siplin) recommended the following:
1 Senate Amendment to Amendment (957254) (with title
2 amendment)

4 Between lines 1091 and 1092
5 insert:
6 Section 12. Section 717.108, Florida Statutes, is amended
7 to read:
8 717.108 Deposits held by utilities.—
9 (1) Any deposit, including any interest thereon, made by a
10 subscriber with a utility to secure payment or any sum paid in
11 advance for utility services to be furnished, less any lawful
12 charges, which that remains unclaimed by the owner for more than
13 1 year after termination of the services for which the deposit
14 or advance payment was made is presumed unclaimed.
15 (2) The unclaimed deposits shall be deposited annually into
16 the Grants and Donations Trust Fund within the Department of
17 Economic Opportunity to supplement funds of the Low-Income Home
18 Energy Assistance Program which are used to assist low-income
19 households in meeting the costs of home heating and cooling
20 bills. These funds shall be administered through the local
21 provider agencies that administer the Low-Income Home Energy
22 Assistance Program.

26 Delete line 1211
27 and insert:
28 certain bonding requirements; amending s. 717.108,
29 F.S.; requiring that any unclaimed deposits held by a

32 Opportunity to supplement funds of the Low-Income Home
