    2         An act relating to voter education programs; amending
    3         s. 98.255, F.S.; requiring that each supervisor of
    4         elections conduct an annual voter registration and
    5         education program in each public high school in the
    6         county; providing requirements; providing an effective
    7         date.

    9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   10  
   11         Section 1. Subsection (4) is added to section 98.255,
   12  Florida Statutes, to read:
   13         98.255 Voter education programs.—
   14         (4) Each supervisor of elections shall, at least once each
   15  school year, conduct a high school voter registration and
   16  education program in each public high school in the county. The
   17  program must be designed for maximum effectiveness in reaching
   18  and educating high school students who are eligible to
   19  preregister or register to vote and must be conducted on the
   20  school campus with assistance from the office of the supervisor
   21  of elections.
   22         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2012.
