    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to the Florida Mental Health Act;
    3         requiring the Department of Children and Families to
    4         convene a work group to review the Florida Mental
    5         Health Act to determine whether certain revisions are
    6         necessary; requiring the work group to submit a report
    7         to the Governor and the Legislature by a specified
    8         date; providing an effective date.

   10  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   11  
   12         Section 1. The Department of Children and Families shall
   13  convene a work group to review part I of chapter 394, the
   14  Florida Mental Health Act, to determine whether revisions are
   15  necessary to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of its
   16  operation and to recommend the appropriate changes. The
   17  department shall submit a report of its findings and
   18  recommendations to the Governor, the President of the Senate,
   19  and the Speaker of the House of Representatives by January 1,
   20  2014.
   21         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2013.
