    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to the Florida Fire Prevention Code;
    3         amending s. 633.0215, F.S.; exempting certain local
    4         governments from specified minimum fire-flow
    5         requirements in the code; exempting certain businesses
    6         from a 2-hour or longer fire-rated wall requirement in
    7         the code; exempting certain agricultural operations
    8         from the code; providing an effective date.

   10  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   11  
   12         Section 1. Subsection (16) is added to section 633.0215,
   13  Florida Statutes, to read:
   14         633.0215 Florida Fire Prevention Code.—
   15         (16)(a) A local government having a population of fewer
   16  than 30,000 is exempt from any minimum fire-flow requirements
   17  for one- or two-story residential dwellings in the Florida Fire
   18  Prevention Code, including the national codes incorporated by
   19  reference.
   20         (b) A business located in a one-, two-, or three-story
   21  building is exempt from any 2-hour or longer fire-rated wall
   22  requirement in the Florida Fire Prevention Code, including the
   23  national codes incorporated by reference.
   24         (c) An agricultural operation that employs fewer than 50
   25  full-time employees and that is not used by the public for
   26  direct sales or as an educational outreach facility is exempt
   27  from the Florida Fire Prevention Code, including the national
   28  codes and Life Safety Code incorporated by reference.
   29         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2013.
