    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to legislative employees; providing
    3         that legislative employees be given preference for
    4         employment interviews under specified conditions;
    5         providing an exception; providing an effective date.

    7  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
    8  
    9         Section 1. Legislative employees; preference in
   10  interviews.—A legislative employee who is not retained for
   11  employment by incoming members of the Legislature shall be given
   12  preference for employment interviews for vacant positions at an
   13  agency as defined in s. 110.107, Florida Statutes, if the
   14  legislative employee meets the minimum eligibility requirements
   15  and has the knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the
   16  position. Any preference for legislative employees may not
   17  conflict with s. 110.2135, Florida Statutes.
   18         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2013.
