    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to the liability of a property owner;
    3         amending s. 375.251, F.S.; modifying the definition of
    4         “outdoor recreational purposes”; providing that a
    5         person who, without charge, provides the public with
    6         an area for aviation activities owes no duty of care
    7         to keep that area safe for others; providing an
    8         effective date.

   10  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   11  
   12         Section 1. Paragraph (b) of subsection (5) of section
   13  375.251, Florida Statutes, is amended to read:
   14         375.251 Limitation on liability of persons making available
   15  to public certain areas for recreational purposes without
   16  charge.—
   17         (5) As used in this section, the term:
   18         (b) “Outdoor recreational purposes” includes, but is not
   19  limited to, hunting, fishing, wildlife viewing, swimming,
   20  boating, camping, picnicking, hiking, pleasure driving, nature
   21  study, aviation activities, water skiing, motorcycling, and
   22  visiting historical, archaeological, scenic, or scientific
   23  sites.
   24         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2013.
