       Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation, Tourism, and
       Economic Development (Brandes) recommended the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
    2  
    3         Between lines 491 and 492
    4  insert:
    5         Section 7. Subsection (2) of section 316.2397, Florida
    6  Statutes, is amended to read:
    7         316.2397 Certain lights prohibited; exceptions.—
    8         (2) It is expressly prohibited for any vehicle or
    9  equipment, except police vehicles, to show or display blue
   10  lights. However, vehicles owned, operated, or leased by the
   11  Department of Corrections or any county correctional agency may
   12  show or display blue lights when responding to emergencies. With
   13  written approval of the city’s police chief or county sheriff, a
   14  city mayor who is the head of a city government and the head law
   15  enforcement official of the municipality are exempt from the
   16  prohibition under this subsection.
