    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to long-term care insurance policies;
    3         amending s. 222.25, F.S.; providing an exemption from
    4         attachment, garnishment, or other legal process for a
    5         debtor’s interest in a long-term care insurance
    6         policy; providing an effective date.

    8  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
    9  
   10         Section 1. Subsection (5) is added to section 222.25,
   11  Florida Statutes, to read:
   12         222.25 Other individual property of natural persons exempt
   13  from legal process.—The following property is exempt from
   14  attachment, garnishment, or other legal process:
   15         (5) A debtor’s interest in a long-term care insurance
   16  policy as defined in s. 627.9404.
   17         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2013.
