    1                          Senate Resolution                        
    2         A resolution recognizing 2013 as “The Year of Italian
    3         Culture” in Florida.
    4  
    5         WHEREAS, 2013 has been recognized as “The Year of Italian
    6  Culture in the United States,” during which all Americans are
    7  encouraged to recognize how the bonds of friendship between
    8  Italy and the United States have been strengthened since World
    9  War II, and
   10         WHEREAS, the historic friendship between Italy and the
   11  United States is not only based on a solid alliance between
   12  governments but on deep bonds of solidarity between our peoples,
   13  and
   14         WHEREAS, the many events planned throughout 2013 in this
   15  and other states will highlight the contributions of Italy from
   16  the Renaissance and into the future, as Italy establishes itself
   17  in the forefront of science, technology, research, and
   18  innovation, and
   19         WHEREAS, this celebration will promote the country of
   20  Italy, engage Americans in, and excite them about, international
   21  relations, as well as strengthen the bonds that unite us, while
   22  creating new bonds, NOW, THEREFORE,

   24  Be It Resolved by the Senate of the State of Florida:
   25  
   26         That we recognize 2013 as “The Year of Italian Culture” in
   27  Florida and encourage the people of this state to join in this
   28  nationwide celebration.
