    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to the delivery of insurance policies;
    3         amending s. 627.421, F.S.; providing that an insurance
    4         policy may be delivered by electronic means; providing
    5         an effective date.

    7  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
    8  
    9         Section 1. Subsection (1) of section 627.421, Florida
   10  Statutes, is amended to read:
   11         627.421 Delivery of policy.—
   12         (1) Subject to the insurer’s requirement as to payment of
   13  premium, every policy shall be mailed, or delivered, or
   14  electronically transmitted to the insured or to the person
   15  entitled thereto within not later than 60 days after the
   16  effectuation of coverage. Consent of the insured is not required
   17  for electronic delivery of a policy; however, a paper copy of
   18  the policy shall be provided to the insured or to the person
   19  entitled thereto at his or her request.
   20         Section 2. This act shall take effect upon becoming a law.
