       The Committee on Commerce and Tourism (Thompson) recommended the
       following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
    2  
    3         Delete lines 40 - 48
    4  and insert:
    5         (3)(a) The commission is composed of 13 members who are
    6  appointed in the following manner:
    7         1. Three members appointed by the Governor.
    8         2. Two members appointed by the President of the Senate.
    9         3. Two members appointed by the Speaker of the House of
   10  Representatives.
   11         4. Two members appointed by the Secretary of State.
   12         5. Two members appointed by the Commissioner of Education.
   13         6. Two members appointed by the Florida Conference of Black
   14  State Legislators.
   15         (b) A member of the commission shall be appointed for a
   16  term of 4 years, except that at the time of the initial
   17  appointment, two members appointed by the Governor, one member
   18  appointed by the President of the Senate, one member appointed
   19  by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, one member
   20  appointed by the Secretary of State, and one member appointed by
   21  the Commissioner of Education shall be appointed for a term of 2
   22  years. A member may be appointed to a subsequent term.
