       Senator Thompson moved the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
    2  
    3         Between lines 145 and 146
    4  insert:
    5         (9) Notwithstanding any other provision of this section,
    6  the Department of Legal Affairs shall establish, and thereafter
    7  maintain, a computerized database detailing the number of cases
    8  brought before the courts of this state in which Sharia law was
    9  attempted to be applied to the cause of action pending before
   10  the court. The department shall annually update the database and
   11  at all times make the information in the database accessible to
   12  the public.

   15         And the title is amended as follows:
   16         Delete line 40
   17  and insert:
   18         and Information; requiring the Department of Legal
   19         Affairs to establish and maintain a database of cases
   20         attempting to use Sharia law in any cause of action
   21         pending before the court; requiring the department to
   22         update the database; providing an effective date.
