Senator Legg moved the following:
1 Senate Amendment (with title amendment)

3 Delete lines 1069 - 1074
4 and insert:
5 Section 4. Full implementation of online assessments for
6 Next Generation Sunshine State Standards in English/language
7 arts and mathematics adopted under s. 1003.41, Florida Statutes,
8 for all kindergarten through grade 12 public school students
9 shall occur only after the technology infrastructure,
10 connectivity, and capacity of all public schools and school
11 districts have been load tested and independently verified as
12 ready for successful deployment and implementation.
13 Section 5. The technology infrastructure, connectivity, and
14 capacity of all public schools and school districts that
15 administer statewide standardized assessments pursuant to s.
16 1008.22, Florida Statutes, including online assessments, shall
17 be load tested and independently verified as appropriate,
18 adequate, efficient, and sustainable.
19 Section 6. The Department of Education shall develop a
20 proposed statewide, standard charter contract and a proposed
21 definition of the term “management company” by consulting and
22 negotiating with school districts and charter schools and
23 provide the proposed charter contract to the Governor, the
24 President of the Senate, and the Speaker of the House of
25 Representatives by November 1, 2013.
