       Senator Detert moved the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with directory and title amendments)

    3         Between lines 125 and 126
    4  insert:
    5         (9) CHARTER SCHOOL REQUIREMENTS.—
    6         (o) A charter school operator may not be a foreign national
    7  principal as defined in 22 U.S.C. s. 611(b); have officers,
    8  partners, or investors who are not citizens of the United States
    9  and who are not lawfully admitted for permanent residence as
   10  defined in U.S.C. s. 1101(a)(20); or be registered in a foreign
   11  country.
