recommended the following:

3 Delete everything after the enacting clause
4 and insert:
5 Subsection 18 of section 409.175, F.S., is created to read:
6 (18) Owners, operators, employees, and volunteers working
7 in summer day camps or summer 24-hour camps providing care for
8 children must pass a background screening, using the level 2
9 standards for screening set forth in chapter 435, Florida
10 Statutes. In order to facilitate employment decisions and to
11 provide information to parents and others about summer camps,
12 the department shall create an online registry of persons who
13 have met these requirements, using the information supplied by
14 owners and operators of the camps. This registry shall be placed
15 on the department’s internet website and shall be available to
16 the public. The department is authorized to adopt rules to
17 implement this subsection.

24 An act relating to the regulation of summer camps; amending s.
25 409.175, F.S., requiring the Department of Children and Families
26 to create an on-line registry of persons who have passed the
27 background screening requirements for employment in summer
28 camps; authorizing the Department of Children and Families to
29 adopt rules; providing an effective date.
