       The Committee on Rules (Simmons) recommended the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
    2  
    3         Between lines 892 and 893
    4  insert:
    5         Section 8. Paragraph (d) is added to subsection (7) of
    6  section 817.234, Florida Statutes, to read:
    7         817.234 False and fraudulent insurance claims.—
    8         (7)
    9         (d) A contractor or a person acting on behalf of a
   10  contractor may not pay, waive, or rebate all or part of an
   11  insurance deductible applicable to covered property for which
   12  the payment for repairs will be made from the proceeds of a
   13  property insurance policy. A person who violates this paragraph
   14  commits a third degree felony, punishable as provided in s.
   15  775.082, s. 775.083, or s. 775.084.
