Senator Altman moved the following:

3 Between lines 547 and 548
4 insert:
5 Section 8. Paragraph (c) is added to subsection (1) of
6 section 381.00655, Florida Statutes, to read:
7 381.00655 Connection of existing onsite sewage treatment
8 and disposal systems to central sewerage system; requirements.—
9 (1)
10 (c) The owner of an existing onsite sewage treatment and
11 disposal system may, with the approval of the Department of
12 Environmental Protection or its designee and in consultation
13 with the Department of Health, use all or part of such sewage
14 treatment and disposal system, including the drainfield, as an
15 integral part of a sanitary sewer system. Notwithstanding s.
16 381.00651, a registered septic tank contractor must evaluate the
17 tank and drainfield and submit the results of the evaluation on
18 a form approved by the Department of Health and the Department
19 of Environmental of Protection.
