       Senator Smith moved the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
    2  
    3         Between lines 145 and 146
    4  insert:
    5         5. A permitholder that operates a greyhound race track in
    6  this state shall maintain each track in a manner that ensures
    7  the safety of racing greyhounds. Each greyhound race track
    8  shall:
    9         a. Maintain a safe track surface using safety
   10  recommendations that are developed by the University of Florida
   11  College of Veterinary Medicine pursuant to an agreement between
   12  the division and the University of Florida College of Veterinary
   13  Medicine;
   14         b. Install a safety device to remove the lure from the
   15  racing surface; and
   16         c. Insulate all exposed electrical wires on the track
   17  surface or anywhere at the facility where greyhounds may come
   18  into contact with an exposed electrical wire.

   20  The division shall adopt rules necessary to implement the safety
   21  requirements under this subparagraph.
