    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to education; prohibiting a student
    3         from taking certain local assessments during a
    4         specified time; providing exceptions for certain
    5         examinations; providing an effective date.

    7  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
    8  
    9         Section 1. A student may not take a district-developed
   10  assessment, a district-selected assessment, or a district
   11  mandated assessment within the 2 weeks before or the 2 weeks
   12  after taking a statewide, standardized assessment. However, a
   13  student may, within the 2 weeks before or the 2 weeks after
   14  taking a statewide, standardized assessment:
   15         (1) Take a college entrance examination, an Advanced
   16  Placement examination, an International Baccalaureate
   17  examination, an Advanced International Certificate of Education
   18  examination, or an industry-approved examination to earn
   19  national industry certifications identified in the Industry
   20  Certification Funding List; or
   21         (2) Retake a statewide, standardized assessment.
   22         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2014.
