    3         Delete lines 128 - 130
    4  and insert:
    5         (4) PREEMPTION.—Any local regulation of wage theft enacted
    6  on or after January 1, 2014, by a county, municipality, or other
    7  political subdivision which exceeds the provisions of this
    8  section is preempted to the state. A county, municipality, or
    9  other political subdivision that has enacted a local ordinance
   10  or resolution regulating wage theft before January 1, 2014, may
   11  amend, revise, or repeal its ordinance or resolution on or after
   12  January 1, 2014. Such counties, municipalities, or other
   13  political subdivisions may also partner with law schools for the
   14  purpose of assisting the county, municipality, or political
   15  subdivision in addressing claims of wage theft.

   18  And the title is amended as follows:
   19         Delete lines 6 - 8
   20  and insert:
   21         requirements of those processes; preempting to the
   22         state local regulation of wage theft which does not
   23         comply with this act; authorizing certain counties,
   24         municipalities, and other political subdivisions to
   25         amend, revise, or repeal their ordinances or
   26         resolutions on or after a specified date; authorizing
   27         certain counties, municipalities, and other political
   28         subdivisions to partner with law schools to assist
   29         with claims of wage theft; providing an effective
   30         date.
