    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to state lotteries; amending s.
    3         24.105, F.S.; authorizing the Department of the
    4         Lottery to create and administer a program that
    5         provides for the sale of Florida lottery tickets
    6         through the Internet; authorizing the department to
    7         adopt rules; providing an effective date.
    8          
    9  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   10  
   11         Section 1. Subsections (19) and (20) of section 24.105,
   12  Florida Statutes, are renumbered as subsections (20) and (21),
   13  respectively, and a new subsection (19) is added to that
   14  section, to read:
   15         24.105 Powers and duties of department.—The department
   16  shall:
   17         (19) Have the authority to create a program that allows a
   18  person who is 18 years of age or older to make an online
   19  purchase of a Florida lottery ticket. The department may adopt
   20  rules to administer the program.
   21         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2014.
