    2         An act relating to hydraulic fracturing; creating s.
    3         377.375, F.S.; defining the term “hydraulic
    4         fracturing”; prohibiting a person from engaging in
    5         hydraulic fracturing in this state; providing an
    6         effective date.

    8  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

   10         Section 1. Section 377.375, Florida Statutes, is created to
   11  read:
   12         377.375 Hydraulic fracturing prohibited.—
   13         (1) As used in this section, the term “hydraulic
   14  fracturing” means the process of pumping a fluid into or under
   15  the surface of the ground in order to create fractures in rock
   16  for the purpose of producing or recovering oil or gas.
   17         (2) A person may not engage in hydraulic fracturing in this
   18  state.
   19         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2015.
