2 An act relating to patriotic film screening; creating
3 s. 1003.447, F.S.; requiring that each district school
4 board ensure that each middle school and high school
5 within its jurisdiction requires its 8th grade and
6 11th grade students to annually attend a screening of
7 a certain film; requiring student attendance;
8 providing an exception; providing an effective date.

10 Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:

12 Section 1. Section 1003.447, Florida Statutes, is created
13 to read:
14 1003.447 Patriotic film screening.—Each district school
15 board shall ensure that each middle school and high school
16 within its jurisdiction requires its 8th grade and 11th grade
17 students, respectively, to annually attend a screening of the
18 film “America: Imagine the World Without Her.” The school board
19 shall require each such student to attend the screening unless
20 the student’s parent requests in writing that the student be
21 excused.
22 Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2015.
