    2         An act relating to vacation rentals; amending s.
    3         509.032, F.S.; authorizing local laws, ordinances, and
    4         regulations to prohibit vacation rentals or regulate
    5         the duration and frequency of rental of vacation
    6         rentals; providing an effective date.

    8  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
    9  
   10         Section 1. Paragraph (b) of subsection (7) of section
   11  509.032, Florida Statutes, is amended to read:
   12         509.032 Duties.—
   13         (7) PREEMPTION AUTHORITY.—
   14         (b) A local law, ordinance, or regulation may not prohibit
   15  vacation rentals or regulate the duration or frequency of rental
   16  of vacation rentals. This paragraph does not apply to any local
   17  law, ordinance, or regulation adopted on or before June 1, 2011.
   18         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2016.
