       Appropriations Subcommittee on Criminal and Civil Justice
       (Bradley) recommended the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment to Amendment (310752) (with title
    2  amendment)
    3  
    4         Delete lines 89 - 122
    5  and insert:
    6         Section 3. Section 836.12, Florida Statutes, is created to
    7  read:
    8         836.12 Threats against law enforcement.—
    9         (1) As used in this section, the term:
   10         (a) “Family member of a person” means:
   11         1. An individual related to the person by blood or
   12  marriage; or
   13         2. An individual to whom the person stands in loco
   14  parentis.
   15         (b) “Law enforcement officer” means:
   16         1. Law enforcement officer as defined in s. 943.10; or
   17         2. Federal law enforcement officer as defined in s.
   18  901.1505.
   19         (2) Any person who threatens a law enforcement official, or
   20  his or her family, with death or serious bodily harm, commits a
   21  misdemeanor of the first degree.
