       Senator Galvano moved the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
    2  
    3         Between lines 39 and 40
    4  insert:
    5         (a) The Florida Virtual School may offer computer coding
    6  courses identified in the Course Code Directory. If a school
    7  district does not offer an identified course, it may provide
    8  students access to the course through the Florida Virtual School
    9  or through other means.
   10         (b) The Department of Education shall annually report to
   11  the Board of Governors and the Legislature:
   12         1.The courses identified in the Course Code Directory
   13  which meet the academic standards for computer coding.
   14         2.The number of students, by district, including students
   15  enrolled in the Florida Virtual School, who are enrolled in a
   16  course identified in the Course Code Directory which meets the
   17  academic standards for computer coding.

   20  And the title is amended as follows:
   21         Between lines 16 and 17
   22  insert:
   23         authorizing the Florida Virtual School to offer
   24         computer coding courses identified in the Course Code
   25         Directory; authorizing school districts to provide
   26         students access to such courses under certain
   27         circumstances; requiring the Department of Education
   28         to annually report certain information to the Board of
   29         Governors and the Legislature;
