       Senator Altman moved the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
    2  
    3         Delete everything after the enacting clause
    4  and insert:
    5         Section 1. Effective July 1, 2016, section 1000.361,
    6  Florida Statutes, is created to read:
    7         1000.361 Dues for the Interstate Compact on Educational
    8  Opportunity for Military Children.—The annual dues assessment
    9  for the Interstate Compact on Educational Opportunity for
   10  Military Children shall be paid within existing resources by the
   11  Department of Education.
   12         Section 2. Effective July 1, 2016, section 1000.40, Florida
   13  Statutes, is created to read:
   14         1000.40 Future repeal of the Interstate Compact on
   15  Educational Opportunity for Military Children.—Sections 1000.36,
   16  1000.361, 1000.38, and 1000.39 shall stand repealed on July 1,
   17  2019, unless reviewed and saved from repeal through reenactment
   18  by the Legislature.
   19         Section 3. Section 2 of chapter 2013-20, Laws of Florida,
   20  is repealed.
   21         Section 4. Except as otherwise expressly provided in this
   22  act, this act shall take effect April 9, 2016, or if this act
   23  fails to become law until after that date, it shall take effect
   24  upon becoming a law and operate retroactively to April 9, 2016.

   31         An act relating to the Interstate Compact on
   32         Educational Opportunity for Military Children;
   33         creating s. 1000.361, F.S.; providing for payment of
   34         annual dues for the compact; creating s. 1000.40,
   35         F.S.; providing for future review and repeal of ss.
   36         1000.36, 1000.361, 1000.38, and 1000.39, F.S.,
   37         relating to the compact; repealing s. 2 of chapter
   38         2013-20, Laws of Florida; abrogating the future repeal
   39         of ss. 1000.36, 1000.38, and 1000.39, F.S., relating
   40         to the compact; providing for contingent retroactive
   41         operation; providing effective dates.
