       Senator Detert moved the following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment to Amendment (816310) (with title
    2  amendment)

    4         Between lines 243 and 244
    5  insert:
    6         Section 4. Section 1004.344, Florida Statutes, is created
    7  to read:
    8         1004.344 The Florida Center for the Partnerships for Arts
    9  Integrated Teaching.—
   10         (1) The Florida Center for the Partnerships for Arts
   11  Integrated Teaching (PAInT) is created within the University of
   12  South Florida Sarasota/Manatee.
   13         (2) The center shall:
   14         (a) Conduct basic and applied research on policies and
   15  practices related to arts-integrated teaching.
   16         (b) Partner with interested Florida College System
   17  institutions and private educational institutions to conduct
   18  arts-integrated educational research.
   19         (c) Seek out agreements to provide technical assistance and
   20  support, upon request, to the Department of Education, school
   21  districts, private schools, charter schools, and educator
   22  preparation programs in the implementation of evidence-based
   23  arts-integrated instruction, assessments, programs, and
   24  professional development.
   25         (d) Collaborate with interested arts organizations and
   26  school districts in the development of frameworks for arts
   27  integrated courses for use in schools.
   28         (e) Collaborate with interested arts organizations and
   29  school districts in the development of frameworks for
   30  professional development activities, using multiple delivery
   31  methods for arts-integrated teaching in different content areas.
   32         (f) Disseminate information about outcomes-based practices
   33  related to arts-integrated instruction, assessment, curricula
   34  and programs.
   35         (g) Position this state as a national leader in arts
   36  integrated teaching and research.
   37         (h) Examine arts-integrated teaching in science,
   38  technology, engineering, and math educational courses.
