    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to the Safe Paths to Schools Program;
    3         amending s. 335.066, F.S.; requiring, instead of
    4         authorizing, the Department of Transportation to
    5         establish a grant program to fund local, regional, and
    6         state bicycle and pedestrian projects that support the
    7         Safe Paths to Schools Program; providing an effective
    8         date.

   10  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   11  
   12         Section 1. Subsection (2) of section 335.066, Florida
   13  Statutes, is amended to read:
   14         335.066 Safe Paths to Schools Program.—
   15         (2) As a part of the Safe Paths to Schools Program, the
   16  department shall may establish a grant program to fund local,
   17  regional, and state bicycle and pedestrian projects that support
   18  the program.
   19         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2016.
