    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to county canvassing boards; amending
    3         s. 102.141, F.S.; requiring a county canvassing board
    4         to retain the services of the county attorney for any
    5         legal representation of the board; providing an
    6         exception; providing an effective date.

    8  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
    9  
   10         Section 1. Subsection (11) is added to section 102.141,
   11  Florida Statutes, to read:
   12         102.141 County canvassing board; duties.—
   13         (11) The canvassing board shall retain the county attorney
   14  of the county in which the canvassing board sits for any legal
   15  representation. The canvassing board may retain legal counsel
   16  other than the county attorney upon the affirmative vote of at
   17  least two members of the board.
   18         Section 2. This act shall take effect July 1, 2016.
