Senator Flores moved the following:
1 Senate Amendment to Amendment (725590) (with title
2 amendment)

4 Between lines 240 and 241
5 insert:
6 Section 4. (1) The Agency for Health Care Administration,
7 in consultation with the Board of Medicine and the Board of
8 Osteopathic Medicine shall adopt rules to establish requirements
9 that ensure the safe and effective delivery of pediatric
10 surgical care in ambulatory surgical centers in accordance with
11 the American College of Surgeons’ evidence-based standards for
12 optimal pediatric care. The rules must establish minimum
13 standards for pediatric-specific patient care, including at
14 least the following:
15 (a) Surgical risk assessment.
16 (b) Anesthesiology.
17 (c) Resuscitation.
18 (d) Transfer agreements.
19 (e) Training and certification of pediatric health care
20 providers.
21 (2) Until such rules have been adopted, an ambulatory
22 surgical center may not keep infants or children younger than 18
23 years of age later than midnight on the day of their procedures.
