       The Committee on Appropriations (Montford) recommended the
       following:
       
    1         Senate Amendment (with title amendment)
    2  
    3         Delete lines 241 - 245
    4  and insert:
    5  student is currently enrolled. A school must approve or deny the
    6  transfer within 2 weeks after receiving a request. If a request
    7  for transfer is denied, the school must notify the parent and
    8  specify the reasons for the denial. An explanation of the
    9  transfer process must be made available in the student handbook
   10  or a similar publication.
