    1                        A bill to be entitled                      
    2         An act relating to state employment; repealing s.
    3         110.181, F.S., relating to Florida State Employees’
    4         Charitable Campaign; creating s. 110.182, F.S.;
    5         prohibiting an organization, an entity, or a person
    6         from intentionally soliciting state employees for
    7         fundraising or business purposes within specified
    8         areas during specified times; providing an exemption
    9         for certain state-approved communications; providing
   10         an effective date.

   12  Be It Enacted by the Legislature of the State of Florida:
   13  
   14         Section 1. Section 110.181, Florida Statutes, is repealed.
   15         Section 2. Section 110.182, Florida Statutes, is created to
   16  read:
   17         110.182 Solicitation of state employees prohibited.—An
   18  organization, an entity, or a person may not intentionally
   19  solicit a state employee through any means for fundraising or
   20  business purposes within work areas during work hours. This
   21  section does not prohibit state-approved communications by
   22  entities with whom the state has contracted to provide employee
   23  benefits or services.
   24         Section 3. This act shall take effect July 1, 2017.
